Introducing The C Project

In 2002, the YMCA of Yonkers began a program to help “promote the availability of the C” to Young Men’s Christian Associations in the northeastern United States. The initiative was expanded in 2003 to assist YMCAs across the country in “lifting up the C.” In 2007, The C Project became a 501 (C) 3 not-for profit Incorporation.  The C Project provides resources, relationships, partnerships, and programs, including:

- A YMCA edition of My Utmost for His Highest
- The Morning Watch booklet by YMCA leader John R. Mott
- The Community Links Program: An initiative linking the resources of local churches and Christian organizations to local YMCAs
- A College and Career Program: Encouraging young adults from Christian colleges to consider YMCA careers
- Volunteer Day Camp Counselor Program: Linking young adult YMCA leaders from around the world with local YMCA day camps
- The Morning Watch Revival Program
- YMCA Christian Heritage exhibits at Y-related gatherings
- Organizing regional Christian Emphasis conferences and trainings
- Presenting the Morning Watch Program to the YMCA Youth Festival in Prague, Czech Republic, in August 2008
- Promoting the development of the YMCA Chaplaincy Program
- Providing support for the YMCA Chaplaincy Program

YMCA Heritage

In 1844, George Williams founded the YMCA in London for the purpose of offering mutual encouragement in the Christian faith. His goal was to establish “a work of sacrifice and service—a work for young men by young men, improving their environment, giving them victory over their temptations and, above all transforming character through allegiance to Jesus Christ.” Click here for more...
